Recovery! Recovery! Recovery! Just as important as the workouts themselves is recovery!

Allowing your muscles to heal and rebuild is vital to maintaining peak performance. Recovery isn’t glamorous but it is something we all need. Getting enough sleep, drinking enough water, stretching, and rolling out tight muscles are part of health routines that we often skip but successful athletes prioritize.

I am historically terrible at allowing my body to rest enough. So I forced myself to take an active recovery day and got a really easy 5k in today for my run while drinking 64 ounces of water and getting 10 hours of sleep. Tomorrow starts week 2 of Habit of Health fitness challenge where we add another item to track each day.
