Thankful!

I know I have been missing in action much of this week. Recovery from last weekend’s ultra has been a bit rough. My mind was willing to push but the body said no much of the week. I was still tracking my water, sleep, and eating habits this week, which have not been ideal, but I tracked them and the mile-a-day streak remains alive.

This Thanksgiving I am thankful for my body continually putting up with the abuse I put it through and staying mostly together through another year of mile-a-daying and this ultra-running season and my friends and family that continually check on me and cheer me on through all of it as well. I am incredibly grateful recently for my friends who pushed me to start Habit of Health in some form again.

And today I got my hour of moving in with my run through a snowy Crown Hill park and a short lifting after having Thanksgiving leftovers with some of the CrossFit crew. I had 32 ounces of water so far and going to try and finish another 32 ounces before bed. I got plenty of sleep, 10+ hours, because my body demanded it of me even though I wanted to get up and into the gym earlier and I ate Thanksgiving leftovers, half of a pizza, and cheese curds from a new pizza place down the street, and I’m about to have leftover Chinese food.
